Organisation
History of the Association & Founding
Swisswushu, formerly known as the “Professional Wushu Kung Fu Association Switzerland” (PWKAS), was founded in the early 1990s. Among its founders were Vic Nowas (†) and Carlos Perez (†). In 1995, the association changed its name from PWKAS to the Swiss Wushu Federation.
As the official Swiss umbrella organisation for all Chinese martial arts (modern and traditional wushu, kung fu, sanda, qingda) and a member of Swiss Olympic, we offer our members a platform for competitions, further training, and both recreational and competitive sport. Our primary aim is to raise awareness of wushu in Switzerland and to support our members in their individual sporting pursuits.
Thanks to our membership of the Wushu KungFu Federation Europe (WKFE) and the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), we always have our finger on the pulse. We share any changes to the rules, as well as trends and developments in the sport, with our members as soon as possible.
